I have always loved the Season of Thanksgiving. It is a favorite of mine because it is the purest of religious holidays that we observe as a nation. I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving, enjoyed time with family and friends, and have indeed taken time to express thanksgiving to God.
Last Sunday I shared the message Thanksgiving Living (1Thessalonians 5:16-18). Well, this Sunday I will share the follow-up message Praise Giving Living (Psalm 34:1-10). This is an important subject in the life of a Christian because, “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise” (Psalm 48:1). On this, I think we can all agree. However, it does raise the question: What kind of praise does He deserve? Let me suggest a few things. I think we should be—
·Zealous with our praise – “I will exalt you…forever and ever”
Psalm 145:2.
·Joyous with our praise – “Shout for joy to the Lord…” Psalm
100:1.
·Contagious with our praise – “I was glad when they said unto
me…” Psalm 122:1.
·Continuous with our praise – “From the rising of the sun to the
going down of the same…” Psalm 133:3.
·Conscientious with our praise – “Praise the Lord, O my soul…”
Psalm 103:1.
· Victorious with our praise – “Clap your hands, all you people;
shout unto God with a voice of triumph” Psalm 47:1.
This is the heart-felt praise that our God deserves. So this Sunday, get up early, prepare your heart and mind to gather with God’s people in worship, and then let us lift up our greatest offering of praise. Let’s do so because “Great is our Lord and most worthy of praise.” Can I get an Amen?
Devotedly yours,
Pastor Ron
