Welcome Home

I begin today by expressing our heart-felt concern for our friends and neighbors in Florida who have suffered devastation caused by Hurricane Milton’s path of destruction. Today, our thoughts and prayers are with them. We also pledge our support to them. As you know, we partner with 47,000 churches in the SBC and together we provide help in disasters such as this. The International Mission Board (IMB) and North American Mission Board (NAMB), which we support as a church, collaborate in DISASTER RELIEF to provide assistance in recovery following catastrophic events such as Milton. You would want to know that DISASTER RELIEF has maintained 26 active relief sights with clean up teams and feeding teams, from Florida to North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene. These are still on going and will now expand to an even greater number now that Hurricane Milton has struck Florida. If you would like to give financial support to these efforts, go on-line to www.sendrelief.org – (Hurricane Milton).

This Sunday, October 13, is our WELCOME HOME DAY. Invite family, friends and neighbors to be our guests for a special day of gathering and fellowship! What you can expect:

·       Garden Party – enjoy light refreshments in the Garden after
both services.
·       Gift Bag – each guest will receive a special gift bag.
·       Ministry Tables – explore our ministries & learn more about
what we offer.
·       Hot Dogs & Bounce Houses – following our second service,
join us in the Fellowship Hall for Hot Dogs and Fun in the Gym
with Bounce Houses!

Look forward to a day of community, connection and celebration! Don’t miss this opportunity to share our Church Family with others! Invite someone!

This Sunday, in keeping with our theme, I will share the message WELCOME HOME from one of my favorite passages in the Bible: Luke 15:11-24. This story in scripture is prompted by the words of the Pharisees who said about Jesus, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them” (Luke 15:2). Jesus gave as His response, The Parable of the Prodigal. I treasure the opportunity to say to everyone (including you) that our sweet Jesus loves us and welcomes the likes of us into a relationship with Him. It’s true: No matter what you have done, God loves you and welcomes you when you return to Him. What a beautiful privilege! I hope you will spend some time in Meditation on this today—and join us for Celebration of this tomorrow!

Devotedly yours,
Pastor Ron
