Let’s admit it. Life can be overwhelming at times. Am I right? You know it’s true! When you find yourself in those kind of situations, you must remind yourself, as a child of God, that you are never truly alone, neither are you really on our own.
Push yourself on those dark days to open your heart to your relationship and companionship with God. Here is where you will find God’s presence and His assistance. So the next time you have that feeling of being alone, look up to Him. Draw near to God as He comes near to you (James 4:8). Find comfort in the Lord’s promise to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Indeed, He will always be there for you, and will prove to be true to you.
I like what the psalmist said: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches…will never slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you…” (Psalm 121:1-5).
Writer Laurie Beth Jones underscores this theme in a poem she wrote:
There is a net under us all.
Sometimes we dance
And sometimes we fall
But there is a net
Under us all.
Dear child of God, your Heavenly Father watches over you and provides for you. He is your help—your safety net. Remember: You are never truly alone, neither are you on your own. God is there for you and He has put a Family of Faith around you. So don’t try to do it alone! Trust always in your Father who watches over you and stay close to your Church Family that is there for you.
The next time you feel lonely, troubled and afraid—think about this my friend: You are never truly alone!
Devotedly yours,
Pastor Ron
