This past Easter Sunday, it was my privilege to preach the Good News of Christ’s Resurrection in three worship services. That was a lot of fun! And why not? It is a sheer blessing to share a message of hope and life! No wonder it gave me joy! Moreover, it also provided me an opportunity to remind you that the Easter message is about not only the hope He gives us of our future in Heaven, but also about the strength He supplies us today in our present situation. He empowers us to live differently and more positively!
The New Testament teaches us the same power that raised Jesus from the grave can lift us up in life. Admit it: We all have personal frailties, but God gives us strength to overcome our shortcomings. Acknowledge it: Life has many problems, but we have power to face those problems. Paul said about this power, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
What does this mean practically? Whenever you feel weak, draw close to Christ and He will give you strength. As you walk more closely with Christ, you will draw more fully on His power.
In your doubts, He brings certainty.
In your troubles, He brings peace.
In your guilt, He brings grace.
In your temptations, He brings will power.
In your fears, He brings courage.
In your discouragement, He brings hope.
In your depression, He brings joy.
In your valleys, He brings companionship.
The Resurrection of Christ not only offers you real hope for tomorrow, but real help for today! That makes me want to shout a Happy, Holy Hallelujah!
Devotedly yours,
Pastor Ron
